Ini berita bagus bagi fans Final Fantasy. Square Enix baru saja membuka situs baru untuk memberikan informasi tentang serial baru FF, yaitu Final Fantasy XII.. "Kami minta maaf pada penggemar FF yang terlalu lama menunggu update terbaru informasi game ini," ujar wakil Square Enix dalam situsnya itu.

Situs yang beralamat di www.ff12.com/special/index.html . itu berisi dua segmen, yaitu yang pertama sajian screenshots dan yang kedua informasi tentang dua karakter baru dalam FF XII. Sebenarnya masih ada satu segmen lagi yang akan disajikan lagi dalam situs ini, yaitu Download. Namun hingga fitur ini belum diaktifkan. Pengelola situs ini menjanjikan akan mengaktifkannya dalam waktu yang nggak terlalu lama lagi.

Dua karakter baru yang dikenalkan dalam situs ini adalah Penelo dan Basch. Panelo adalah gadis berusia 16 tahun pacar dari Vaan. Panelo sudah kehilangan keluarganya dua tahun lalu dalam suatu peperangan. Ia hidup dengan bekerja membantu pedagang dalam bazar, pasar dan sebagainya. Ia juga penyanyi dan penari yang juga terampil dalam seni militer belajar dari saudaranya. Sedang Basch adalah anggota angkatan perang Dalmascan. Ia adalah seorang pahlawan yang dalam pertempuran patuh pada hukum. Namun ia pula yang membunuh Raja Dalmascan setelah mengadakan perjanjian dengan Kerajaan Arcadia.

Final Fantasy XII direncanakan bakal dirilis akhir tahun ini atau awal tahun 2005 untuk PS2. Nggak ada informasi berapa harga game ini bakal dijual.
